70 years of memories, 70 years of thrill seeking, 70 years of traditions.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts 70th World Series of Drag Racing is now another chapter in Cordova’s long history.

Now that everyone has had more than two hours of sleep and our bodies have filtered out the nitro fumes, we can think straight. In many ways I am sad it is over, but we are excited for what is in store for the next one.

This event is more than just a drag race, more than just a camping trip, more than just a feature show and more than just et slips, it is a pilgrimage. Now I am not saying the sand of Cordova Dragway is “holy” but it does have an effect on all of us. The World Series of Drag Racing is all about the people. We are very blessed to have great people in every aspect of Cordova Dragway.

Thank you to our race teams. Each and everyone of you continues to make the event phenomenal. No matter if you win or lose, you are there for the team next to you. We are very lucky to have you as part of the family.

Thank you to O’Reilly Auto Parts. I am pretty sure that everyone will like the sound of “Welcome to the 100th O’Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing”, as this partnership continues for years to come.

Thank you to the Cordova Dragway team. Your dedication and hardwork to make this event a success was seen by everyone there. You guys and girls rocked this weekend!!! I could not be more proud of each and every one of you. This journey is possible because of you all.

Thank you to the fans. I am hoping you all enjoyed the show. We pride ourselves in showcasing some of the coolest cars on the planet and they really put on a performance. Every racer and team member gave their all to keep you entertained and wanting to come back for more.

Congratulations to all our winners. You should be very proud of yourselves, winning the World Series is a big deal.

Congratulations to the Cordova Dragway Hall of Fame class of 2024. Scott & Laura Gardner, The Weets Brothers, Tim Wilkerson and Mike Garland. Your contributions and commitment to Cordova can never be repaid, we all thank you for that.

The 71st World Series of Drag Racing is only 361 days away. Join us August 21-24, 2025 for the “Granddaddy of Them All”. You have plenty of time to rest up. Get your vacation days planned now because it will be one you will not want to miss.

My family and I are grateful for each and every one of you. The World Series of Drag Racing is a ton of work, it is a monster in each and every way. It is only possible because of the family that Cordova Dragway has and will continue to be. Thank you all for giving your all.

Now I have to go fix the fence that the jet semi blew over. (Totally worth it!!!)
